DUSHANBE The Iranian Ambassador and Military Attache to Tajikistan Seyyed Rasoul Mousavi in a meeting here Friday with Tajik Minister of Defense Major General Shir Ali Khairullahyev reviewed the Irano-Tajik promotion of defense cooperation. In the meeting, the two sides also exchanged their views on implementation of an earlier military accord inked between ministers of defense of the two nations. Expressing concern and regret of the Islamic Republic of Iran over the conflicts in the past two months in Tajikistan, Mousavi stated that Tehran believes that putting into operation the accords of the Tajik national reconciliation is the best way to prevent current conflicts.

Tajik defense minister in his talks called for implementation of the two countries' memorandum of understanding in defense area and further defense cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Tajikistan. (IRNA)
